What is a credit report?
A credit report combines your loan, credit card, and mortgage application history with information on how reliable you are at making repayments. This information, plus further details such as your address, whether you’re registered to vote etc, is analysed by Equifax to produce a creditworthiness report and credit score, which is then used by lenders to assess whether or not to approve any applications for lending.
What is a credit score?
Your credit score is based on your credit report, and is a quick way for lenders to see if you’re a safe risk. Viewing your credit report allows you to correct any errors, thus raising the score and improving your chance of getting a loan, credit card or mortgage. Signing up to Equifax will also get you further tips and advice on how to improve your score. So if you want to view your credit report, just follow this link for your free trial.
